Simple Steps to Change Your DNS Server

Changing your DNS server can speed up browsing, improve security, and fix certain connection issues. Here’s a quick guide:

Step 1: Choose a Reliable DNS Provider

Some popular free options:
• Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
• Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
• OpenDNS: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

Step 2: Change DNS on Windows

• Go to Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center → Change Adapter Settings.
• Right-click your active network, choose Properties.
• Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Click Properties.
• Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
• Enter your new DNS servers and hit OK.

Step 3: Change DNS on Mac

• Open System Preferences → Network.
• Select your active connection, click Advanced.
• Go to the DNS tab.
• Click the + button and add your new DNS server addresses.
• Click OK and Apply.

Step 4: Change DNS on Your Router

• Log in to your router’s admin panel (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1).
• Find the DNS Settings under WAN or Internet options.
• Replace the default DNS with your preferred DNS servers.
• Save and reboot your router.

Quick Tip: Changing DNS on the router updates it for all devices connected to your network!
